Upcoming PlayStation Games – Must-Try Games for PlayStation

2022 and 2023 are set to be the best years for gaming fans as the number of quality games that have been announced and are going to be released soon is mesmerizing. There is plenty that you should be looking forward to and that is what we are going to focus on in this article.

We’ll be listing some of the top upcoming releases in both 2022 and 2023. Keep in mind that the main focus will be on PlayStation 5 releases as developers and publishers noted that the features of these games will be in full effect on this gaming console. Although it is pretty hard to get your hands on a PS5 these days, we don’t expect that this issue will continue in the coming months.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Our first listing is none other than a Call of Duty Game. Modern Warfare II is a sequel to the reboot, which was made in 2019 and is scheduled to be released at the end of October 2022. The expectations for this game are pretty high as Activision set the standards pretty high with the original release and the reboot.

God of War Ragnarök

One of the game series that managed to exceed the expectations of players and keep them excited for future releases is God of War. This Norse-themed PlayStation game was originally destined to be released in 2021, but the complicated situation in which the world found itself, delayed the process.

Now, God of War Ragnarök is set to be released in either the third or fourth quarter of 2022 and the storyline will revolve around the main protagonist – Kratos and his son Atreus. We are sure that you are familiar with this fact, but Ragnarök is a prophesized event that will bring the end of days and that is exactly the period that will be covered here and its storyline will start three years after the events of its predecessor game.

Although God of War Ragnarök will be available for both PS4 and PS5 consoles, experts advise players to enjoy this game on a PS5 console for a better gaming experience.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

The Lord of the Rings is more than just a successful movie story. Its books are a must-read and now, the franchise is taking over the gaming industry. As the name of the game suggests, LORD: Gollum will centre around one of the most interesting characters from this universe – Gollum.

It will follow Gollum’s journeys and events before the events of the Lord of the Rings movie franchise. September 1, 2022, is the scheduled release date and the interesting part about this game is that Daedalic Entertainment (developer) and Nacon (co-publisher) haven’t shared any details concerning its gameplay.

LORD: Gollum was announced in 2019 and even though it was supposed to be released in 2021, it was rescheduled to 2022. One thing to keep in mind about this game is that the release date is not yet official – it is only a target date.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Next up, we have a sequel to one of the most successful first-person combat games in the recent period. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order managed to exceed the expectations of all players. There’s no denying the fact that its visual effects, storyline and gameplay were a thing of beauty and now, EA Games is set to go on with the thrill with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

This title will once again revolve around Cal Kestis, the main protagonist in Jedi Fallen Order. After surviving the Inquisitors and a face-to-face duel with none other than Darth Vader, the Jedi Knight must stay one step ahead of the Empire as he becomes one of the most wanted targets by the Grand Inquisitor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was announced during the annual Star Wars Celebration event and its teaser trailer was exclusively shown. The only thing that was revealed is that some of the main characters of Fallen Order will come back. As for the main plot of the game, there are literally no details. Survivor is slated for a 2023 release and Star Wars fans couldn’t be more excited about it.

One important thing that is worth knowing about this game is the fact that it will only be available on next-gen consoles, PS5 included.
